Mindfulness meditation is an effective technique to combat stress and other factors that affect health. It is a millenary discipline related to Buddhism that goes beyond religion, and it is currently highly recommended for its therapeutic benefits.

This type of meditation can be done with a qualified teacher in an orientation course. However, there are some tips you can follow to get started in this world from home:

➔ Choose a comfortable place.

➔ Make sure the place is going to be quite while you do your meditation.

➔ Choose a time when you are unlikely to be interrupted.

➔ Close your eyes and try to focus on yourself.

➔ Look inward.

➔ Think about your body and all its parts.

➔ Identify and accept all sensations, some are more pleasant than others.

➔ After a few minutes with your eyes closed, open them and pay attention to all the sensations you receive through your senses.

➔ Reflect on your field of emotions. Which are abundant and which are absent?

➔ Pay attention to your thoughts, but do not analyze the content.

➔ Let them appear and disappear.

According to the Mindfulness and Health Society, the main idea of this practice is to pay full and conscious attention to the present moment and live it with interest, curiosity and acceptance.

Doing this exercise regularly can bring medium and long-term benefits, such as increasing your ability to cope with challenges and problems in everyday life, reducing stress, and feeling that you are living with greater well-being.
